Linda Schaaf's artwork, spanning 40 years, documented the life of an artist who struggled with both mental and physical illness. Much of Schaaf's career was spent on the west coast. The "Flying Against the Wind" exhibition at the LVAA in June 2007 was her first show in Louisville. Sales from that show helped establish the Linda Schaaf Micro-Loan Program for Visual Artists.
My sister made incredible sacrifices throughout her life on behalf of her art. Linda transcended her mental and physical challenges to create a body of work that chronicles her interior and exterior worlds over the span of four decades.
